An Army widow at 28, from a plane crash that also killed 247 other soldiers, my mom used that experience to help other Army widows. Always on call she goes in soon after notification and helps do things like set up the funerals, get through insurance forms, help arrange for incoming family members to have places to stay, and most importantly..be there at 3 in the morning when the new widow tried to deal with this new, and unwanted life!! 1 year ago my older brother Darrell made the decision to join the Army and my mom has stood by him 100%! She never shed a tear until he was on the plane heading for basic training. Going into the Army and flying, two of my mom's greatest fears! But, she stood strong, and in doing so she showed me what we can do for love. Now, a year later, my brother is stationed right here at Ft Campbell KY, proudly wearing the Screaming Eagle patch that my mom's 1st husband wore so many years ago. I nominate my mom, Amy Gallo, who hasn't taken a vacation in 7 years!
